Having lost the toss and been put in, Hook U11B scrambled to a net score of 271-9. We scored 39 runs off the bat with contributions from skipper Ben W (8), Zac (7) and Ethan (6). Extras were the top scorer with 77!

We said at the tea interval that our bowling and fielding would have to be spot on if we were to win the match - and it was! The wickets were spread around but James' 1 for 2, Jack's 1 for 5 and Dom's 2 for 8 (he was on a hat-trick) are worthy of mention.

Come the last over, Cove required 3 runs to win. They got themselves into a winning position, then Ethan bowled a perfect fast, straight one that moved in and took the off stump. Hook held their nerve by only conceding a single off the last ball!
